Nor did when they started, nor where they were on the course at any given moment. A race is about pacing, and strategy, and endurance. Seems like the winner of the race really won this race. I think most of those folks sleep in their clothing in order to dry it out. Putting your puts in your sleeping bag (or at least under your knees under you sleeping bag) would help too.
