Just got to Iowa and first thing I did was get out on the trails... I have to say it's not much colder than Florida right now. But the trails are in absolute AWFUL condition... in a one hour ride on the way back my 9" deep ruts were already blown closed. There were a couple of spots that were knee deep... Will have to wait until Saturday morning to see how the look (will deploy the emergency route if they are still this bad). I was able to average about 4-6 mph, had to lower my pressure to about 4 psi.
Lance, given the trail and road conditions we've decided to stay in MN and ride here rather than try to slog the IA trails. Thanks and good luck to all! Woodbury's
Elle Elle (Laurie), the race will be finishable by most riders, also it will be an out and back, so slower riders can turn around at any point they wish. I will be doing the placement the same as years past (Finish & time, then mileage for those who don't finish). The new route will allow us to ride vs. push as last year. I'll post a trail report later tonight.

Lance I know that the packet pick up and pre race meetings are at the Grand Harbor but where at in the Grand Harbor exactly?
Go in the hotel doors, upstairs to the left of hotel registration, down the hall on the right (Platinum Room A).
Where is the friday night meet and greet going to be? Hopefully somewhere where they serve booze?
As of right now, I'm reading two tenths of an inch snow accumulation in Dubuque. Is that correct?

See new post, new bike route, will be a "ridable" route this year, very little pushing (i'd expect a mile or two at the most total).
