Hey, Lance, how much for the Nokkians? I am looking to put that on my Mountain Bike. I am headed out to Heritage trail this morning LQQK'n at the ice that is underneath the melting snow I think I'll go with my Nokkian 40C on the cross bike instead of the 2.1 Knobbie mountain bike.

$30 a tire. I'll warn you though that the studs only work on exposed ice, the stuff under snow you'll still spin and slide on a little because it keeps the studs off the ice a little. They do have a great snow treed on them so they are good from that stand point. Also, for racing I’d only use them if there was lots of ice as they are HEAVY! The reason for them being so heavy is to prevent the sidewall from getting chewed up from the ice. But for training they are the BOMB, and give you some incredible confidence.
On glare ice I’ve ridden on a 10-20 percent cross slope on them and didn’t slip at all.

I'll take em. My goal is to replace as much indoor winter riding with as much outdoor riding as possible. So with the equipment I have that is not going to be a problem. It seems indoor riding is only survivable for so long before your not keeping up with the level you should be.
